Tom duBois "King of Kings" - Giclee on watercolor paper w/ uv laminate texture coating. This process gives the print a more original look and feel since the original painting was done on masonite and requires no glass. Matthew 21: "Hosanna, to the Son of David, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest." in Greek wraps around the outer border while, Zechariah 9:9: "See your King who comes to you with righteousness and salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey" in Hebrew wraps around the inner border below the image. This print is custom produced by Tom duBois, himself and will require 2 weeks (14 days).

Artist Commentary

Inspired from Zachariah 9:9 & Matthew 21:9, this is a vignette from my original painting titled ~ Blessed is He. This image highlights the poor miserable beggar and the humble King of Kings who symbolically holds the Gospel in one hand and the Law in the other. The Law that only He can keep. Offering His divine gifts to one who can’t possibly have anything to offer this Lord of Lords. And the beggar is of course all of us! Once received, this magnificent gift of faith brings us poor crippled beggars to our feet and we walk along with the bride of Christ on the glorious blood red carpet of righteousness ~ laid down on Calvary and extended across the orthodox church and covering all the fallen flowers of sin that we by our iniquity, cut away from the true vine.

About the Artist

After 3 years of intense study at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and an apprenticeship for another year at a large advertising production house in the heart of the Loop, Tom began his career in 1980. Trained in the essentials of Life Drawing, Illustration & Design and Painting he refined his craft creating illustrations for various clients. Companies like Quaker Oats, General Mills, Betty Crocker, Celestial Seasonings, Smuckers, Gatorade, Alpo, Gillette, McDonalds, Sega Genesis, Gameboy, Nintendo, Enesco & Bradford Exchange Collectables and Disney Studios gave Tom an opportunity to explore and develop a very wide range of illustration styles and techniques.

Now Tom works exclusively on Christian themes and he began TRIUNE Art as a means to produce fine art products that contribute to church, school & mission by donating a percentage of the sale to the charity of the patrons choice.

Tom enjoys sharing his story of how he was led down a broad twisted path of non-belief and self-interest, onto the straight narrow path of the believer in Christ by what he likes to call a divine superintending by the Holy Spirit. Subtle symbolism usually pointed out to him by his collectors was showing up in his paintings by no intention of his own! The striking relationships to Holy Scripture were enough for Tom to begin an unrelenting study of not just Christianity but all the religions of the world. This in turn led to his conversion and a faithful conviction to true historic Christianity.

Tom is also a cancer survivor living in Houston with his rescued dog Javier and an active elder at the Orthodox Church he lovingly attends. Tom's website is www.triuneart.org.
