This wonderful Cherokee Indian split oak woven storage basket is on consignment from the heir to a Shoshone-Bannock Indian who worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs beginning in the late 1910s or early 1920s. The relative frequently traveled to other reservations on his job and received gifts of baskets, beadwork, pipes and other items by the people he visited. I will be selling pieces from this collection over the next year. It's 9.5" square at the bottom, 13" tall, and 10" diameter at the opening. Excellent condition throughout, but there are some stains from a spill in one area (probably after it was bought or given) as you can see. This basket was stored out of light and has retained a brilliant coloring, despite its age. FREE SHIPPING & INSURANCE!!!
