The Black Eagle rods are a quality series of graphite composite rods by Eagle Claw. These rods are Eagle Claw Black Eagle model BEG500-8'6", a 8 1/2' medium action 2 piece trigger stick casting rod made in China. These 8 1/2' rods have 8 lightweight  Stainless Steel insert guides plus tip. The guides are double foot frame design for maximum strength and sensitivity. The quality of the workmanship on the Black Eagle rod series is evident from the high quality, durable epoxy coating on the guide wraps and information area. The rod handle has a durable reel seat with a metal hood and a 12" full Portuguese specie cork handle with a 2 3/4" cork fore grip. The design and placement of the ferrule is such that there is virtually no "flat spot" commonly associated with a 2 piece rod. The rod is medium action rated for 8-17 lb test line and 1/4-1 1/4 oz lures.  With all the high quality features and 8 1/2' length the rods weigh only 7.4 oz each on my digital scale.

If you are looking for high quality, sensitive 8 1/2' trigger stick Salmon/Steelhead rods you can't get a much better rod than this Black Eagle BEG500 especially in a 2 piece model for the price.  High quality 2 piece rods are getting harder and harder to find at a reasonable price since the detail and precision required in the manufacturing process makes them more costly than a comparable one piece model. These are new rods with warranty papers included. Eagle Claw warranty is one year for materials and workmanship.

I included "TROLLING" in the title since a good number of similiar rods have been won by anglers in the Upper Midwest (Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota) to be used as trolling rods. The walleye guys claim these long, sensitive rods are great for trolling for walleyes. They must work good for trolling since most are winning two at a time.

I also noticed that a number of rods went to the Gulf Coast and Southeastern states. No, not for salmon/steelhead or walleye but Wipers, Redfish and Strippers. They must work for those fish because their buddies later bid on these rods.
