Flaws: The lining is discolored throughout the bodice...this is contained to the lining only and cannot be seen when the gown is worn.
About This Gown: WOW! You don't see many like this anymore! This is an original Mike Benet vintage gown most likely from the late 70's or very early 80's. If you have a themed event, this gown is in fantastic condtion with no flaws found other than the lining being discolored. Being black, it would also make a great Halloween costume gown! Also, the second picture was taken close up using the flash so you could see more detail. The gown is black with dark colored accents. This is the only one we have so bid now!
Please keep in mind that plus size items may look differently on you than they do on our much smaller mannequin. Be realistic in your expectations.
Measurements
Bust measurements are taken around the fullest cirumference of the breasts and this measurement is NOT the same as your bra size. Bra sizes consist of the band size, which is the circumference just UNDER the breast and the cup size. So remember, your bust size and bra size are not the same thing and are two totally different measurements. For instance, if you wear a 36C bra size, a gown with a bust measurement of 36 is not going to fit you but rather be way too small. The waist measurement is taken at the most narrow circumference of the waist. The waist in a formal gown is not like your low rise hipster jeans but should fit around your natural waist line. If you are unsure exactly where your natural waist line is, do this: Stand up straight with hands on hips and bend to one side, the point where your waist pushes inward is your natural waist and is typically located just below your rib cage. The measurement for the skirt length is taken from the natural waist line to the front hem of the gown and will of course be longer in the back if the gown has a train. About These Gowns & Dresses
Most of these gowns are selected from various bulk lots of gowns that were purchased as sample gowns, NWT gowns, floor displays, former rental gowns and props. We have wonderful gowns for Prom, Weddings, Military Balls, Homecoming and pretty much any formal or social occasion and/or event. Most of these gowns have been tried on and may have spent time in storage. This is all the information we have on the history of these gowns so therefore, spot or dry cleaning may be necessary. Listed measurements are approximate and we do not accept gowns back because the item does not fit or because the actual measurements differ slightly from what is listed. The measurements we list reflect the measurements of the gown itself, not body measurements. Some of these gowns will have defaced or missing designer and/or size tags. Many times, formal wear requires alterations for a perfect fit. Colors can vary on monitors and can also be affected by camera flash and lighting conditions so please take this into consideration when bidding. There is always the possibility that there may be loose or missing beads, minor dirt or dust especially around the hem and/or train area. All of these gowns are in good to excellent wearable condition and any excessive flaw or damage that we find will be noted in the gowns description. However, it is possible that some things may be missed as we do not go over them thoroughly. These gowns may be shown over a crinoline or petticoat that is not included in the auction. Most of these gowns are larger than the dress form or mannequin they are displayed on so they may be held together in the back with a rubber clip in order to better represent its true look, so chances are that the gown is larger than it may appear to be in the pictures. All items are sold on an as is basis. If you have specific questions or want more info than what is listed, it is your responsibility to e-mail us. Something that we consider insignificant may be very important to you and we have no way of knowing that you need that information unless you ask. When considering a purchase online, it is always best not to make any assumptions always ask and wait for a reply. E-mail your questions as early as possible as there may or may not be someone here to answer during the last hours of the auction.
Terms & Conditions
The listed shipping and handling prices are flat rates. Shipping & Handling covers the cost of shipping, packing materials, any applicable pick up fees and pays someone to take care of the shipping process. If you disagree for any reason, please do not bid. Bidders with less than 10 positive feedbacks need to email us prior to placing a bid. The reason for this is that most problems and negative feedbacks tend to come from new eBay members who do not understand how eBay transactions work or who have not taken the time to read the terms and descriptions...so if you email us before placing your bid, we are assured that you have read the terms (at least down to this point). After new members have sent us the email, the bids are more than welcome. When we have new gowns from Mike Benet, Alyce, BCBG, JS Boutique, J.S. Collections, Tiffany, Loralie, Mori Lee, Alfred Angelo, Precious Formals, Xtreme, Xcite and Glam Gurlz, they will be at least from the previous season and have been stored so keep that in mind. Other brand names could be from the current season.
Communication
All email messages regarding any of our eBay items must be sent to us using the eBay message center. We receive many emails each day and much of it is unsolicited junk mail and spam. Keeping communication within the eBay message center will enable us to reply in a more efficient manner. If emails regarding our eBay items are not sent thru the eBay message center, you may not receive a reply.
Payment
An invoice from eBay will automatically be sent to winning bidders within an hour of auctions end. All payments are due within 3 days of auctions end via PayPal without exception. Late payments will no longer be accepted. Auctions not paid within 3 days of auctions end will be subject to eBay's non paying bidder process. Payments must be made online thru PayPal only. Other forms of payment will not be accepted. NO CHECKS; Personal, Business or otherwise.
Shipping
All items are shipped via the United States Postal Service. Domestic packages are sent priority with delivery confirmation included and will ship within 1 to 4 business days of receiving cleared payment. Insurance against damage or loss during the shipping process is available for a flat rate of $2.50 per auction and is recommended but not required for items under $50.00. Items with winning bids of $50.00 or more are REQUIRED to be insured. The cost of the insurance will be $2.50 per auction regardless of the final bid amount and will cover your full purchase amount minus shipping and handling. We will only ship to the address you have registered with PayPal. Please do not ask us to violate policy by requesting that we ship else where. Please understand that once a package is picked up by the Post Office we cannot be responsible for it so consider purchasing insurance. In the unlikely event that an insurance claim needs to be filed, we will reimburse you for your bid amount once the filing process is completed.
Combined Shipping
We are happy to combine domestic shipping for up to 3 auctions won within a 24 hour period. Combined Rates will apply as long as these items are paid for together. The highest shipping and handling rate will be charged plus an additional $5.00 per item (a maximum of 3 total). Combined shipping and handling is not available for international shipments.
International Bidders
Shipping and handling charges to any country outside of the U.S. is a flat rate and is non negotiable. If you disagree with these rates for any reason, we ask you not to bid. Payment is due within three days of the auction ending date and MUST be made via PayPal only. Other forms of payment and late payments will not be accepted. International shipments do take longer to be delivered and this time will vary by destination. Typically, it will usually take around two weeks for international customers to receive their items but can take longer. We ship international packages once per week. Combined shipping and handling is not available for non U.S. shipments. Any cost above shipping and handling charges, such as customs and or duty fees, are the customer’s responsibility. International bidders are obligated and bound to all other applicable terms and conditions found on this auction page.
Return Policy
Please ask any questions you may have prior to bidding. Returns will be handled on a case by case basis. If you are not satisfied with a transaction, please e-mail us prior to leaving feedback, we will try in good faith to correct the situation by exchanging or refunding. You must email us for approval before returning any item for exchange, credit or refund. Refunds can only be issued via PayPal.
In the event that a refund is necessary, the item MUST be returned within 7 days of the date it was delivered to you. PLEASE DO NOT ASK US FOR A FULL OR PARTIAL REFUND IN ADDITION TO KEEPING THE ITEM. We do not allow any type of refund or credit without receiving the returned item within the specified time frame. By bidding on this or any of our auctions, you are agreeing that under no circumstance will you be entitled to keep an item and obtain a refund in any portion.
The cost of shipping and handling is NOT REFUNDABLE under ANY circumstance, nor is the cost of your return shipping if you choose to return an item for a refund. This still applies even if we have misrepresented an item. These costs cannot be recovered once they are paid so if you disagree with this policy, do not bid. Feedback will be posted after your feedback is received. We reserve the right not to complete or to cancel any auction if there have been system failures or other technical problems within the last hours of any auction, or if suspicious bidding activity (i.e.: bid shielding) is suspected to have taken place.
We support eBays VERO program and will report any theft of intellectual property such as item description, layout and/or photos. By bidding on this or any of our auctions you are agreeing that you have read, understand and agree to all the above terms.
