The Sequel reissue of PORTRAIT OF PETULA contains 4 tracks not included on the original release.
The soundtrack of Petula Clark's second NBC special, 1969's PORTRAIT OF PETULA is the album that definitively repositions Petula Clark from swinging London sophisticate to mature adult contemporary balladeer. The lovely middle-of-the-road single "Happy Heart" sets the all-grown-up tone on this expanded reissue. Two of Clark's self-penned tunes, "Love Is the Only Thing" and "Some," are rewarding, as are covers of the then-current hits "Windmills of Your Mind" and "Games People Play."
Perhaps the best track, however, is a beautiful, jazzy rendition of the Rodgers and Hart classic "My Funny Valentine." It may be Clark's best vocal performance. Also of note is the inclusion of "When You Return," which was listed on the sleeve of the original vinyl release but not actually included on the album. Fans of her "Downtown" days may not be interested, but this is among Petula's finest albums.

ABOUT MY GRADING

Because I am also a collector, I grade much more strictly than most ebay sellers. We've all bought "excellent" condition discs that turn out to be scratched beyond recognition. I would not do that to my customers.

MINT: As new.
MINT-: A few light, teeny tiny marks visible at close inspection that prevent disc from being called "MINT".
NM: Near Mint. A few small light marks, but still a super disc, very clean and highly collectable.
EXC: Excellent. Some small light marks/wear and possibly a *small* and *light* scuff or two. Still quite nice, and a collectable quality disc.
VG+. Very Good Plus. A listening copy that plays flawlessly, but has typical "used CD" marks/wear/scuffs. My "VG+" is far better than most ebay sellers' "excellent".
