Antique Burmese teak dowry chest with recent carving. The quality of teak in this chest is exceptional with the sides and bottom all made each out of a single board. The top is made out of a single board of teak except for about a 1 inch strip. This chest is in the style of wedding chests which were made in present day Burma and sold in present day India during the late 19th century. This chest is in excellent condition and very tight. There are minor signs of wear consistent with the age or the chest. Size is 17.5" x 19" x 32.5." The weight is 57.4 lbs. For more information see babaoneofakind.com.
