Joey Harker has never been known for his sense of direction. In fact, he's the kind of guy who gets lost in his own house. But then one day, during a field trip, Joey gets really lost. He walks straight out of his world and into another dimension/reality where the McDonald's arches are green plaid, his mother doesn't recognize him and everything has been altered to varying degrees. Imagine his surprise when he then finds that he can walk among or between these different realities!
In every version, there is a Joey Harker who is as different from himself as that universe is from his reality. Sometimes the newly encountered Joey is different enough that he is a she, or has wings, or is part robot!
Joey soon finds himself the target of two warring peoples - one technology-driven, the other possessing mystical abilities - who capture Walkers like himself to harness their power, a power he never knew he had. Ultimately Joey ends up at InterWorld, an academy where hundreds of other kids who resemble him (and who all have the initials J.H.) train to "defend and protect the Altiverse from those who would harm it or bend it to their will."
The Altiverse is a bell curve with pure science worlds at one extreme and pure magic worlds at the other; most worlds and their accompanying universes fall in the middle. The evil organization HEX (magic) is working to take over more universes from one direction while The Binary (science) is working from the other. The hitch is that neither group can travel between the universes without the power within a person like Joey.
When he sees the evil those forces are capable of, Joey makes the only possible choice: to join an army of his own; an army of other near-Joeys who all share his amazing power and who not only walk between the universes, but are dedicated to keeping the balance in the cosmos

Media Mail (once known as 4th class mail) is a special class of postage for books, music, videos and other printed media available within the US and territories. It is far less expensive than Priority Mail, but - it ..... is ........... slooowwwww!!!! Despite USPS claims of 3-9 day delivery times, MEDIA MAIL CAN actually TAKE UP TO 3 WEEKS to arrive, and their tracking info is frequently not updated until it actually arrives, making that feature pretty useless! PLEASE remember this when you leave feedback scores as the choice is yours and not my fault if it takes a long time to get there! If you want it in a week or less, you are going to have to bite the bullet and pay for Priority Mail which will get it there in 2-3 working days, 99% of the time, but it is more expensive. Basically, the choice is yours, but if you choose media mail, please don't write to me in 5 days asking where your package is, because the post office will have it and most of the time, they don't have a clue! International deliveries all go by Priority Mail and usually arrive within 1-2 weeks.
