Original Vintage English Eccentrics Dress from Ice at the Beverly Center c 1988

This is certainly an eccentric dress -- an over dress really, it just requires a slip, so you can see the intricate seaming and fabulous neo Victorian shape.  It is completely original, and absolutely beautiful.  It is made of screen printed black silk organza, with little drwings of polar bears and a line of printing below them that says "how to dress sensibly" -- very funny -- you can see it in a detail pic above.  The silk fabric is very strong, but there is a little "flea bite" hole that is all but invisible, pictured above with the sun coming through it so you can see the darned thing!

This dress is EXTREMELY hard to photograph, if it appeals to you at all, I PROMISE it is much more beautiful in person.  I've had it hanging it around the house as I'm getting ready to list it and everyone who comes in says "Wow, what is that?  Why don't you wear it?" 

I was a 6 - 8 when I bought this dress and the measurements are as follows --
(it should skim the body, not fit tight)
