CD ORIGINAL PHOTO ALBUM NORWAY SAMI SAAMI LAPPS 1880s

Here I offer a cd containing 103 high resolution scans produced from an outstanding original photo album dated circa 1880s .

The album covers the journey of a wealthy party of travellers through Norway . There are many fine photos of the indigenous Sami people ( also known as Lapps ).

The party sailed out on SS.St.Rognvald & SS.Garonne. There are some good shots of both ships , including deck photos . Other transport themed photos feature horse drawn trams in Princes street Edinburgh , Steam engine Hugin at Voss Station ( Vossevengen Railway )and horse and carts ....this album predates motor cars .

There are some delightful photos of street scenes in Norwegian towns ...locations include Bergen ,Hammerfest , Tromso and Trondheim .

This album obviously belonged to a wealthy family ( I was informed it originally belonged to the Coore family of Scruton hall , Yorkshire  ). It contains many rare unpublished images . A charming photographic record .
