This is a Victorian dictionary stand that was made by L. W. Noyes of Chicago around 1900. The book leaves are all walnut and the rest of the dictionary stand is metal painted gold. It has four wood wheels and a shelf for other books under the dictionary. The main pole can be adjusted up or down depending how tall you want it or how short. The dictionary can be opened or closed on the stand, there are two latches that hold the walnut book rest open, release and it closes. The two latch handles both have broken ends, about 1/2" missing on one side and 1" missing on the other, it doesn't affect how it works and for the most part is just cosmetic. Both walnut leaves can be easily opened and closed by applying pressure down to loosen the latch and then allow the leaf to close, to open the leaves, just push them open. The condition of the stand is great, no problems or damage other than the two handle end. The black sticker on the left book leaf tells you how to order parts, you have to read it, it is funny. Dictionary is not included, it doesn't fit the stand that well, it was just for a photo of how it is suppose to look.
