 Buy this high quality 3 pc. outfit, handcrafted in Africa, and support the work of an amazing woman.   This outfit was sewn by Mapendo, whose name means love.  She is a handicapped young woman who is determined to create a better life for herself and her family.  Mapendo and her mother fled their rural home when their house was destroyed by the fighting in their rural village 2 years ago.  Mapendo has used her income from sales such as this to rebuild their house in the village, so that her elderly mother could move out of the refugee camp where she has lived for the past two years.  This is real change, person to person, powered not by outside aid, but by the incredible skills and determination of a small group of amazing crafttspeople.

Description
This 3 piece outfit includes a wrap-around skirt, blouse, and headwrap.  It  is made from high quality African cloth with a brilliant designs in black, white and red.

The shirt features a scalloped neckline and flared sleeves, giving it a unique, glamorous look.  The wrap-around skirt has darts and cloth ties at the waist for an easy, adjustable fit.  It is flared above the knees, giving it a beautiful twirl and making it easy to walk in.  The headwrap really completes the look.

All Shona purchases are labeled with the handwritten name of the woman who sewed that item.  All purchases also include a color brochure with photos of each woman and details about her life.    This is a great way to buy directly from the craftswomen and to support your sisters in Congo as they strive for a better life.
