Vintage Square Dance Squaw Dress
This auction is for a vintage two-piece Thunderbird Fashions of Prescott, Arizona “squaw” dress that was worn for square dancing in the 1950s. Skirt and top are made a true-red crinkly fabric that I believe is a cotton/Rayon blend. It has applied black and sparkly silver ric-rac along with black and silver ribbon trim. Dress is washable. The tag shows it’s a size 16 – I would estimate this would be a modern size medium but please review the measurements to determine if it will fit you.
Skirt - waistband is 14” flat with metal side zipper and snap closures; 26 ½” from waist to hem; creates a full circle when laid flat; photo shows skirt with two crinolines underneath (not included)
Top – ¾ length sleeves that are not set in; 18” across bust with side darts; side metal zipper
There is some light soiling at the neckline and one underarm seam needs to be mended – dress is in otherwise very good condition. This would be great for square dancing or for anyone partial to the Rockabilly style.
I have another vintage square dance dress listed and am happy to combine shipping for winners of multiple auctions. If you have questions about this item, my payment policy or shipping options, please contact me before bidding. Thank you.
