| This week and into next, I am proud to bring you a part of my own VINTAGE NIGHTGOWN & SLIP COLLECTION!! These are some of the most Stunning, Glamorous pieces that I've found over the past 3 or 4 years and have saved back for myself. Due to smaller living conditions for the time being, I have decided to offer them to you.
This Luxurious, PEACH, RAYON SLIP with 3" WIDE, CREAMY FLORAL LACE TRIMMED BODICE & HEMLINE, GATHERED BUSTLINE, BIAS-CUT SKIRT AND THIN, FLAT, MATCHING PEACH STRAPS WITH METAL ADJUSTERS is truly one of the most lovely Vintage Slips I have found to date. My favorite part is the Large Decorative BOW that is seen applied on top of the Lace Trim, at both the Bodice, and the Hemline! This is so perfectly feminine and looks as if it is unfurling in a gentle Spring Breeze. You can see the Stunning Shimmer on this Supple and Gorgeous Fabric, even in the photos! I was, at first, certain it was Silk, but after closer inspection, the feel and texture tell me it is Rayon. I can assure you that this is a Fabulous Vintage Garment, probably dating to the 1940's and is NEW, OLD STOCK WITH IT'S ORIGINAL SALES TAG STILL PINNED ONTO THE NECKLINE !! It was even on Sale, when the original owner purchased it...for $1.49!!!
This Ultra-Feminine, dream of a Slip is in NEW CONDITION, with only 2, extremely MINOR and LIGHT, soil marks. These are tiny, thin lines..one at the bodice and on the skirted portion...both very hard to find, let alone see, when worn and will probably come out with cleaning of the garment. These are just from storage or from the original store rack, as the slip has obviously never been worn. They resemble very thin, pale, pencil marks but I'm sure it is simply soil that will come out with proper attention. It is a SIZE 32, OR A SMALL, BY TODAY'S SIZING STANDARDS and is MID-CALF Length at least, depending on your height.
MEASUREMENTS ARE:
Bust: 32" around
Waist: 29" around
Hips: 40" around
Total Length: 38" From underarm to bottom of hem
THE AREA OF THE BODICE, COVERED IN LACE, WILL NOT HAVE THE DARK WHITE-ISH ITEM IN THE CENTER. WHILE THIS LOOKS LIKE A "SEAM" IN THE LACE, IT IS ACTUALLY THE TIE ON MY DRESS FORM SHOWING THROUGH THE BEAUTIFUL LACE OF THIS SECTION.
The slip is quite a bit tighter on my dress form than it will be on someone of a smaller size. "She" normally wears a Size 9, so the photos do not show how exquisite this will look when it fits correctly. The bodice, especially, is so gorgeous, yet the photos do not do it justice. You will be amazed when it arrives!! The stitches on this piece are so teeny tiny and so are the metal, painted adjusters on the straps...just amazing! These "BIAS-CUT" Pieces mold to your shape and accentuate your feminine curves...just as they did for the Stars of the Silver Screen, back in the days when every woman was a "Star" in her own boudoir while wearing these Romantic Items! Also, why keep this hidden in the bedroom? I think it would make a spectacular Summer Dress (with appropriate undergarments, of course!) and you are sure never to see anyone in the same outfit!
