This is yet another VINTAGE NIGHTGOWN from my Personal Collection that I am listing this week and next. From the 1930's-1940's comes this Fabulous VINTAGE FULL-LENGTH, PEACH RAYON NIGHTGOWN WITH BIAS-CUT, FLOWING SKIRT, CRISS-CROSS BODICE WITH WIDE STRAPS THAT COME TO A POINT WITH GATHERING BENEATH, WHERE THEY ATTACH TO THE BUSTLINE, SWEETHEART PLUNGE NECKLINE AND PLUNGING BACK! This is a NEW, OLD STOCK GARMENT, meaning it has not been worn and is in EXCELLENT, NEW CONDITION WITH NO PROBLEMS!! There is one tiny mark, that looks almost like a dirt smudge from the rack when it was being sold (please see photo below). I believe this will easily come out with a wash.
This is your chance to own a VERY OLD, YET BRAND NEW, Glamorous, All Rayon, Bias-Cut Gown from an Era past, when Femininity was all the rage and like the stars of the silver screen, everyday women wanted the Luxurious and Elegant Nightgowns they saw on their favorite Movie Stars. These gowns clung to the curves and flowed around them like a dream and will do the very same for you!
In the second to the last photo, you see this gown paired with a Exquisite Vintage SATIN BED JACKET. This bed jacket has been sold, but it shows how lovely the gown looks with one. This auction is for the pictured Nightgown, ONLY.
The Nightgown is a SIZE 34, per the inner, cardboard-like tag. This tag is unusual and I've not seen another like it. On the back, there is a mesh material, somewhat like webbing, that keeps the paper of the front piece, hard. There is no maker's tag or other information, simply the size, a penciled mark number and "MADE OF RAYON".
MEASUREMENTS ARE:
BUST: 34" AROUND
EMPIRE WAIST: 29" AROUND
ACTUAL WAIST: 32" AROUND
HIPS: 38" AROUND
HEMLINE: 60" AROUND
TOTAL LENGTH: 48" FROM UNDERARM TO BOTTOM OF HEMLINE
This gown has a bit of "stretch" to it, so it may fit a bit larger size. The bodice is meant to be loose, as these old gowns were, while the hips and derriere were form fitting. You often see this in the old Prints from the 1920's-1930's. The fabric is unbelievably soft and sensual. Simply a stunning Example of Vintage Lingerie!
