10.1 megapixel – the war on pixel
count has been subsiding as many camera manufacturers realise that without
good firmware, higher megapixel count can result in higher distortion.
This top of the Leica D-Lux range and latest model from Leica has limited
the MP count to 10.1 to ensure pictures are sharp and vibrant because of
insignificantly low distortion level.
Comes with latest firmware Version
1.2, which further improves white balance and auto focus functions.
In case you are wondering, the lens
cover strap for camera has not been unpacked and is still in the original
plastic bag.

Reviewers of this camera have found
that although this is a Panasonic LX3 equivalent, the jpeg software
processing is much more superior to the Panasonic equivalent resulting in
more vibrant and clearer pictures than the Panasonic. Software for this
camera is developed by Leica itself and not Panasonic, hence the
difference in picture quality.
