************************************ HOLIDAYS ARE A-COMIN' -- BE A HERO !!!!! ************************************ In an effort to find a fair market value, I searched the Internet for this item. I was shocked to discover I COULDN'T FIND ANY FOR SALE!!! This is truly a rare collectible and, considering the history of the Ultraman character, one that will continue to increase in value indefinitely. Made in Japan and written in Japanese, this board includes districts of several major Japanese cities: the most expensive property is Tokyo's Ginza, followed by Osaka's Umeda. Copyright date was 2004 and was released by Parker Brothers/Hasbro. Ultraman is a creation of the 1960s and a huge part of popular Japanese culture. Various incarnations of Ultraman battle an assortment of weird monsters. The Ultraman Monopoly edition has Ultrapods instead of houses and Ultratowers instead of hotels. Placenames are replaced by monsters' home planets and Earth Defense Forces headquarters. Ultraman's creator was Eiji Tsuburaya from Tsuburaya Productions, a pioneer in special effects who was responsible for bringing Godzilla to life in 1954. Ultraman is a fictional character featured in tokusatsu, or "special effects" television programs in Japan. Ultraman made his debut in the tokusatsu SF/kaiju/superhero TV series, Ultra Q: Ultraman: Special Effects Fantasy Series, a follow-up to the television series Ultra Q. The show was produced by Tokyo Broadcasting System and Tsuburaya Productions, and was broadcast on Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) from July 17, 1966 to April 9, 1967, with a total of 39 episodes (40, counting the pre-premiere special that aired on July 10, 1966). ****************** GREAT HOLIDAY GIFT- EVEN IF IT'S FOR YOURSELF!!! ******************
