Please read carefully.   This auction is for an internet domain with inventory.   The listing is somewhat lengthy, but I felt it necessary in order to thoroughly cover all the bases.

This domain is being sold as undeveloped intellectual property.   For those who may be unfamiliar with this terminology, “intellectual property”, though you can’t reach out and touch it, is still a tangible asset.   You are actually per say acquiring a piece of property just as you would be if you bought an actual piece of land.   “Undeveloped” means just that, there is simply nothing built on the property.

With that being said, we can now move on to what you will get in this package.   Normally you would get just the domain name, and I am starting this auction with no reserve at below the price that I would expect to get for the domain itself as undeveloped with no inventory.   Though the domain is being sold as undeveloped, I have forwarded the url with gripper turned on and thrown up a temp site with brief description/wording along with photos just to give an idea/example of what can be done pertaining to the development of the site.   You can view the temp site simply by typing scale2scale.com into your browser.   The site is simple and took about 30 minutes to make with MS frontpage, and I can include the FTP files if desired.   You will need to find your own hosting, which is very cheap(as low as $5 a month).

I will also include the copyrights for the photos displayed on the temp site.   I enjoy many hobbies, one being photography, so these are photo’s I have taken personally.  Some are pretty good, and one was even good enough to be chosen for display for a while on the home page of r/c universe.   Just messing around I submitted a few photos to the member gallery, and received an email shortly afterwards stating that they wanted to use one for the home page rotation.   Talk about some good free advertising, that site has almost 400,000 members and gets millions of hits!

Moving on, you also get an instant inventory.   Great care has been taken to assemble several awesome scale examples of just one of the many areas of scale, land r/c.   There are very detailed photos on the temp site.    Everything you see in the pictures is included in this auction so you can start selling and making your money back immediately.   The exact items you see in the photos is what you get, vehicles, props etc…   Some of the props were used in different photos, so just because you see it more than once, doesn’t mean that there is more than one.

I have included a brief, yet detailed description of the items pictured on the temp website under the link “ebay auction” as well as what each comes with along with any issues that I am aware of.   Some I built, some were purchased built and added a few realism touches to, but most are generally unique.   The “ebay auction” link (located at the bottom of the main gallery page 1)  describes everything that is included in this auction, there is even a whole bunch of other r/c stuff that I am throwing in which are not pictured on the 4 gallery pages on the main temp site.   A lot of the other items not pictured in the gallery are toy grade r/c, but some good stuff to make use of either in bodies or whatever.   Many are new in the box, some probably collectable, but no junk.

Anywho, moving on.   This is a great opportunity to start your own business, and if you are into scale, then what better business to go into than something that you love doing.   The potential for some serious long term residual income is tremendous.   Just in acquiring the inventory for this domain I have run into many instances of people who are either custom scale builders, or make little custom parts, doo dads, scale accessories.   In essence, this site will allow you to make contacts and have exclusive access to many custom pieces/accessories not available to the general public.   The possibilities are endless.   As undeveloped, a domain is worth what it is worth, but as developed, the value is exponential.

I.E. - If this domain were developed, and depending on the number of hits it was receiving on a daily basis, you would definitely have to add another substantial digit to the value.   A few search engine submissions, a couple of affiliates, some awesome photo banner ads to draw hits, perhaps even a scale video submission to utube, and you can just use your imagination as to how many hits this site has the potential for.    As anyone knows, traffic is money.   The amount of hits/traffic you get, just like on any highway, determines the amount you can charge someone to place a billboard/banner ad on your site.   This domain has not been submitted to any search engines and there is not currently a hit counter on the site since it is just a temp site I threw up, but I would be willing to bet that it is already getting a lot of hits just by word of mouth and by the scale realism photos that I have placed strategically around the internet just for the fun of it.

I myself love scale, which is why I wanted to make this into sort of a fun little pet project and not just another domain sale.    I started building scale airplanes about 17 years ago as a hobby.  I still remember my favorite, a Bud Nosen Cessna 310 twin engine, 10 foot wingspan.  Talk about a plane!   However, this opportunity is not for everyone.   I love the hobby, but for me that is where it ends.   The business aspect of it is not for me because I simply have too many other irons in the fire as it is, and even in the short time I have been working on the inventory for this site my wife has already complained about never seeing me since I am always in the workshop lately.   The “I’m working” excuse isn’t working for me anymore, she can tell I’m having fun instead of working.   I tried to stretch it out as long as I could, but sadly, my fun has finally come to an end.

That being said, this is a big investment, so you need to make certain you will be able to follow through on not only the purchase, but the development as well.     If you are new to the aspect of owning an internet business I will help out in any way I can.  Yes, I could make a website for you, but no, I won’t.   I have designed many web sites, but I just don’t have the time to design anymore.    I will however provide consultation free of charge in the form of development advice, marketing/advertising techniques and where to go next for however long it takes since I would love to see this site succeed and would love to be able to find my next scale “have2have” on scale2scale.com.

I generally list domains for sale on a domain auction site, but since there is so much inventory, and this is a site that I want to see really take off, I thought ebay to be the best avenue to take in order to find someone who will truly appreciate this opportunity.

This is an excellent ground floor entrepreneurship opportunity, and one of the reasons I have not spent the time needed to develop this domain is because quite frankly, even though it would be worth much more, it does take time, the stuff that seems to never be enough of these days and is in many instances worth more than money itself.     Secondly, it is much harder to sell a $50,000 website than it is to sell a $5,000 domain.    The average person can’t just fork out $50,000, thus I make it point to deal mainly in undeveloped, yet “good potential” property for higher turnover yield.

Please ask any and all questions, I will be happy to answer any and all emails I receive.  If you are truly serious we can exchange contact info and I will even find time to speak on the phone if needed.   I expect to have much phone contact with the winning bidder, but can’t take 70 phone calls a day to answer questions which is why this listing is so lengthy.    But yes, I would also expect to probably have a few conversations with any potential winning bidder if they were indeed serious, so don’t be afraid to ask Q’s.

This domain has incredible value potential, and overall I can tell you that aside from the net worth value of the domain itself, I have invested more in just the inventory/preparation of the domain than what the starting bid is, this hobby is very addictive.     Albeit, my other ventures are getting neglected so I need to move on to other things now, but it was real fun while it lasted.    However, there is at least one item I may want to purchase back, so I could very well be your first customer lol.

And yes, this is a PICK-UP only, I simply don’t have time to pack and ship all of this stuff, and it would not be cost feasible for the buyer anyway.     I will also feel better about releasing the inventory directly into the buyer’s hands so that everything can be checked out first hand.   I will even kick back $300.00 of the final purchase price towards traveling expenses.   The inventory will need to be picked up at the lake house about 3 hours north east of Houston, Texas where I currently reside.    It is in the country at the Toledo Bend lake, there is a big lodge resort about 5 miles down the road from me that is quite nice, very scenic and pretty reasonable if overnight accommodations are needed.

Also if you like fishing, bring a pole or boat, the lodge has a pier/ramp on the big water and people come from all over the world to fish this lake in big money tournaments.   I think there might even be a quarter million dollar tourney coming up soon if that sort of thing floats your boat.   If you like hiking then bring your hiking boots.   My house sits adjacent to the National forest and the infamous “trail between the lakes” is close by.   Not to sound like a travel agent, because I’m not, but you could easily turn the pick up into a great little mini vacation in the country.   One of the oldest recorded towns in Texas with its authentic brick paved streets and neat little original sidewalk shops is near here, and people are always finding arrowheads and so forth around these parts.

My point is this, the inventory will have to be picked up, I will not ship, so you might as well make the most of the trip.   Oh, and if you are not used to breathing fresh air, seeing so many trees, having complete strangers wave at you or not being in a traffic jam at 5 o’clock, then you might want to consult your physician first, it can be quite traumatic if you are not accustomed and try to take it in all at once.   I’m a city slicker gone country boy myself, so I just had to throw that in.

Without further ado, let the bidding begin.

Here are the terms:   First, some answers to the top 4 potential questions that I know I will probably get.  1. Don’t ask for a “buy it now price” or make me offers.   If I wanted offers I would have included that option in the listing.   2. I will not complete this transaction outside of ebay.   This is in lieu of preservation of both the buyer and sellers best interest, so if you want it, bid on it.   3. I will not break up the package and sell inventory items separate, it is all one big enchilada.   4.  Yes, I will accept international bids, but the payment/pick up and all other terms remain exactly the same.   If you live on another continent and have the cost effective means to make the trip and lug all of this stuff back, then go for it.  Sorry to be so abrupt, but these are simply non-negotiable terms put as simple as could be.

Shipping:  Pick up only for inventory, with $300.00 travel expenditure kick back deducted from the final purchase price.  The domain itself is parked at Name Secure.   Legal transfer of ownership is to be made after final payment / inventory pick up.

Payment:   A $500 deposit is due within 3 days of auction end via paypal, with balance due upon inventory pick up (minus the 300.00 kick back for travel expenses).   I am flexible on the amount of time needed for pick up/final payment within reason.  I understand the circumstances that would prohibit someone from just making a spur of the moment trip, and perhaps someone may even need time to secure funds in the form of a business or other loan, so this is something we can discuss.   I however will have to at least put a 21 day limit on final payment from the time of auction end just for the sake of not having to wait until next year to legally collect funds, but as I’m kind of a nice guy, this may be (a little) flexible depending upon extenuating circumstances.

This is a reasonably low start, no reserve auction for a quick sale.    If I wanted to take my time I would have set a reserve and added an extra digit the starting bid price, and though I’d love to see the bidding jump up into the double k digits, highest bid takes this baby home regardless.

I know I cracked a few jokes here and there, but let’s please keep the bidding on a serious note.   If you bid, please make certain your intentions are forthright and sincere in adhering to the payment/pick up terms.   Thanks in advance.

P.S. Not pictured is a bonus item I am going to include simply because I am trying to gain space in my upstairs loft.    It is a coffee table type N-scale train layout approx. 3’x5’.   The layout is a culmination of about 1 years work, working on it steadily around 15 hrs per week.   The reason there is no pic is because it would not do it justice, this is something you just have to see in person.   It has several engines which can run simultaneously on the tracks if you are good enough to do so.   It has 2 branch off circle around connections from the main track with track switches in place.   It has lights galore throughout the town, with many houses/buildings/cliffs/tunnels/farm layout scenes/people/trees/shrubs/rail cars/N-scale vehicles/lighted billboards/bridges/power lines-poles etc…Some of the buildings are very rare and collectible such as the original old style Burger King and Pizza Hut.   The thing is more of a very detailed work of art than anything, yet is fully functional.    It has been stored for many years and needs some minor repair/tweaking, possibly re-wiring which is why it is a bonus item.   At one time this item was in a divorce proceeding where it was valued at around 3k.

Good luck / good bidding.
