1939 NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS Linen Like BOOK Milo Winter

Here is a wonderful old 1939 " 'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS" book.  It's a large one measuring 9 3/4" x 12 3/4".  It was published in 1939 by Merrill Publishing Co. out of Chicago, IL.  The artist for the beautiful work in the book was by Milo Winter.  It is a linen-like paper book with an unusual binding.  It is bound with a white tape-like binding & then over the top of that is thread stitching (see pic).  This is the only book I've seen done this way.  The pictures are still very bright & vibrant.  You can tell the book was well taken care of - probably pulled out only at Christmas.  There is no writing or dog earred pages & no tears except a tiny 1/4" on very bottom of front cover (this is not easily seen).  There appears that there may have been a minor folding of some of the pages.  This is not readily noted either, but it is something that I wanted to mention as I try to explain all faults no matter how small.  This is an absolutely wonderful book to add to your collection.  This has been in my collection for many years, but due to downsizing, I must let go of many of my Christmas books.  I'm sure you will be very happy with it!
