Vintage 1954 Whitman Large THE CHRISTMAS BOOK

Here is a wonderful, collectible Holiday book, "The Christmas Book",  Published by Whitman in 1954.  There a total of 383 pages full of stories & song, & illustrations by Roberta Paflin.  The stories in the book were selected by the Child Study Association, making it a most popular read for children year after year.  It's a large sized book being 7 1/4" x 10 1/2".  The book has been lovingly read many, many times as shown by the wear to its cover .  The front cover once shiny now shows edgewear, corner damage & indentations made in the waxy-like covering.  There is damage to outside of spine as well (see pic).  However, inside all pages are still intact.  There is a loosening though of the inside from the spine, but it is still intact.(see pic).  The inside pages are free from marking or dog earring of the pages. There is on inside cover a black smudge, not terribly large. Only the inside first page has a small 3/4" tear on bottom of page.  The rest are fine.  The pages have yellowed with age.   This is a time-proven book & contains so much great reading material for your grandchildren or children during the Holidays.  Be sure to this to your Library.
