Traditionally a maquette is a three dimensional model that disney
animators use as reference. Walt Disney Feature Animation produced exclusive limited edition maquettes as gifts for
the Disney employees that worked on the film. This maquette of Tarzan on a tree was sculpted by sculptor Kent Melton (who
sculpted most of the maquettes for Feature Animation during the 1990s).
Only 2,200 were made and were given to cast and crew members as a wrap
party gift or was only available to purchase even to some artists at disney feature animation for short period of time. 11 inches tall. The base is 6 x 9 inches. The maquette is a
matte grey. A gold limitation plate on the bottom states: "Tarzan Wrap
Party June 1999 Limited Edition 329/2,200." These are treasured
by their owners and rarely come up for sale. highly collectible!
