Each precision replica is hand assembled from more than 175 separate components and each is packed with authentic details that are the hallmarks of Franklin Mint Precision Models, including the 275 horsepower 340 V-8, faithfully replicated right down to the spark plug wires!

In 1971, the writing was on the wall for high horsepower engines. A looming fuel crisis, increased insurance ratings and a change in styles brought the era of raw performance to an end. The '71 'Cuda took one last gasp at greatness and delivered with a full host of performance engines.

The 340 engine was regarded by many as the best balance of V-8 power without making the car overweight. A well-tuned, 340-powered 'Cuda could leap from the starting line in the quartermile and nearly surpass the venerable Hemi®-powered cars. On canyon roads, the 340 was a well-balanced, all-round performance car.

The 1971 'Cuda was the top of the line but offered only minor changes from the previous year. A new grille and taillight treatment, as well as new interior patterns, were just part of the changes in the model line. The most notable features of the 1971 'Cuda were the addition of “fender gills”, situated on the front fenders, and quad headlamps. Although the 1971 'Cuda ended the Muscle Car era, it reigns today as one of the most desirable and sought-after Muscle Cars to drive the streets of America.
