Bidding has ended on this item. Item:19th Century print famous warrior wigwam image help? |

I need help with this. I have been going through boxes of an estate of an African American decorator who died almost 20 years ago. I found this print. It is an image I have seen before but I would be hard pressed to locate it. I know that it was an early artist that drew sketches of native Americans. I believe that they were all eastern in origin. Although this looks Eskimo I remember that those are wigwams and that is a feather cape. The matting appears to be tooled leather although it may be a form of plastic. The style and condition of it all point to the 19th century. It occurred to me that this may have been issued for schoolhouse use. This strangely matted print is on a hard cardboard backing. I will answer all questions and requests for photos. |
