Antique store ledger from 1868 and is from Jefferson county in New York. There are several transactions from a Jefferson county bank and the steamer Athenian also made there ship purchases from this store. There are 800 pages of record keeping and looks like each one has a number next to transaction but not sure what its purpose was maybe book keeping. Pages are in extremely good condition as they are made of old rags turned to paper and only see flaws on the binding due to age and use but overall not a bad binding for its age.The pages all closed togeater made a neat red and blue color along the edges. The writing is extremely neat but hard to read and the ledger is well organized in the book keeping, no excessive writing. I've done some research with one of the names in the book in the first few pages and located the name Andrew Cornwall and in just a few pages one of his sons, purchases for the Alexandria Lodge and the steamer Athenian . Mr Cornwall was a  "practical founder of the now world-famous Thousand Islands as a watering place". There is also a list in the front that list the amount and price paid for gold purchases. Many wealthy people lived in this area and I took cornwalls name and read a lot of information, this book is sure to give lots of research history. Ledger covers from Dec 13 1867 to Wednesday 30 1868 almost a years time and is an amazing amount inventory and money that changed hands. Please feel free to ask any question and be aware this is being sold as is with no returns accepted. This is an item that needs to be shipped only once.
