Based upon a 2003 NASA Space Shuttle experiment to study animal life in space and test how insects-ants, successfully tunnel in microgravity.


NASA scientists thought of everything. The gel is complete with nutrients to promote healthy growth in the new ant colony. All you do is sit back and enjoy the view as ants live, work & tunnel in the nutritious and non-toxic gel creating series upon series of intricate tunnels.

Ants are highly intelligent, organised, numerous, and strong. With their largely developed brains, their compassion for fellow ants and ability to work as a team, their amazing physical strength-often lugging 20 times their body weight, and an innate predisposition for a healthy attitude toward work - ant farms have benefits beyond a simple study of insects!

The nutrient, non-toxic gel is formulated to last up to one (1) year and provide ALL the food and water the ant colony needs to live in their antfarm habitat. Usually ants will live anywhere from 2 - 6 months and in this habitat they are 'safe' from disease, cold/wet, and predators.
