  School Merit Money-- First decimal system not wanted in 1813 but it was adopted in the 1970s for Great Britain! These coins were used in Britain and given out for excellence in school studies and could be used in purchasing items for sale or exchanged for money at a few progressive schools in England. These are scarcer than coins for the general public from the Royal mint. Diameter: 20MM Composition: Brass Condition: AUN Princess Charlotte Augusta of Wales (7 January 1796 – 6 November 1817) was the only child of the ill-fated marriage between George IV (at the time Prince of Wales) and Caroline of Brunswick. Had Princess Charlotte lived, she would have been Queen of the United Kingdom. Princess Charlotte aged 21 soon after her first baby was stillborn.
