Beautiful James Kent jug with oriental flower design

  
 
 
 

Description: Beautiful James Kent jug with a gorgeous oriental style floral design.  This lovely jug has a pure white base.  Around the neck is a band of four different geometric designs in shades of blue and gold.  The main body of the jug has a stunning pink flower on it which could be a chrysanthemum or a rose with smaller flowers above it and green leaves, all held together with a brown stem.  This is repeated on the other side on a smaller scale.  The jug sits on a small foot and is of an elongated, ovoid shape with a long, elegant neck.  The moulded and applied handle is very dainty and perfectly compliments the shape of the jug.  There is fine gilding on the rim, foot and handle.  The whole jug is very well moulded with fine decorative ribbing and a scalloped foot.

 

Age:  Unknown

 

Condition: Very good, with no damage that I can see or feel.  Some age related scuffing to the base.

 

Size:  Approximately 6” tall

 

Weight:  143g (unwrapped weight)

 

Backstamp: Printed in black – a crown above a globe with OLD FOLEY in a banner across the centre.  Below in a banner or swag it reads JAMES KENT and below this MADE IN ENGLAND
