What is RestMan?

RestMan was created to offer greater comfort while working with a computer mouse whether at home or at the office. The mouse pad and the armrest area form a continuous surface that supports and evenly distributes the weight of the entire forearm and elbow. This strongly reduces localized pressure to the wrist and nearly eliminates constant strain to the muscles and tendons on the neck, arms and shoulders. The large flat surface area also minimizes blood flow restriction allowing for varied positioning of the forearm and the whole body thus helping to promote blood circulation. Specifically targeted at people who use computer mouse for extended periods of time, RestMan offers seamless and intuitive switching between the mouse and the keyboard.

Why do we need it?

Desktop computers were first placed on simple tables, which evolved into ergonomic tables in which the keyboard and mouse tray were lowered. Yet that didn't solve the problem of eliminating pressure points, which form when the whole hand rests on the wrist. Many of us don't notice that our forearm is in air, until we develop a pain in the palmaris longus and other forearm muscles.

With the advent of graphical user interfaces (GUIs), work on video display terminals increasingly involves a pointing input device, which is used with 30 to 80 percent of computer activity. Along with this increase, there has been increase in the incidence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and blood clots at the wrist.

How to use RestMan?

Technology: 

• All plastic components, including the main body, C-clamp, and bottom brackets are made of ABS plastic. ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a tough, shatter resistant plastic that exhibits considerable resilience against force or impact.
• The pad is made of foamed rubber and covered with fabric for smooth mouse movement, whether mechanical or optical. 
  

•  The maximum dimensions* of the pad are: A -20cm, B - 45cm, C -14cm, which is sufficient for most mouse applications. 
• The wide C area allows the user to rest their forearm and elbow in a range of positions accommodating various arm lengths and comfort points.
• The C-clamp shape is computer optimized and stress tested for an even distribution of force load and great strength. 
• The thread on the C-clamp and screw is guaranteed not to skip under heavy load.
• Steel nuts are embedded in a plastic casing that can be tightened by hand meaning no assembly tool is necessary, and providing a very secure hold.
• The casing will mask protruding bolts as well as allow for a greater extension to fit thicker armrests.

How to attach REST MAN to the arm of a chair
Please use screws and the adapter that are in the package. Insert screws in to the panel of REST MAN and then put it over the arm rest on a chair. You will have two screws on each side of the arm rest to hold it tight.

How to attach REST MAN to a desk
Please use the adapter that is in the package. First, attach the adapter to the back of the REST MAN. Next, insert the desk in between the REST MAN and the adapter. Tighten the screws well.
