Here's a Very Interesting Piece of History.

Remember the JUNK-BOND SCANDAL that shook Wall Street and the Whole Financial Market back in the 1980's?

If not, just do a Web-Search for Drexel!

If you don't want to bother, here's enough particulars to get you started.  MICHAEL MILKIN - the True "Power Behind the Throne" in this Corporation - excelled at Finding Companies that were Undervalued - so-called "FALLEN ANGELS" - and re-invigorating them through various questionable practices. 

Such "SPECULATIVE GRADE BONDS"

- West Shore Railroad (also available in my eBay Store) one of the Most Famous: Issued in the 19th Century they didn't come due until the year 2361 !!! -

were a Hot Commodity for a time Twenty Years Ago but soon came to be known as "Junk Bonds".

This was a time when the terms

"Corporate Raiders" and

"Hostile Takeovers"

first came into Common Usage, so if you've heard those phrases you have in a sense heard of this whole affair.  

The Scandals involved broke open in 1986 - just one year after this Certificate was issued by a Petroleum Research Company (often mentioned in the same breath as Exxon, Shell, and Texaco) and purchased by Drexel.

So it has immense Collector's Value

and Historical Interest!!!

Talk about a Keepsake that is well worth framing and putting in that special place on your wall!

And that's not all!

The Certificate itself is a beauty!  Highlighted by a bold, deep-green color (reminiscent of Ecology but also Greenbacks) and featuring an extremely attractive Vignette of a Young Woman striding purposefully along a River amongst Wooded Hills!

with Reg. No. 080273 and dated February 27, 1985.  It measures 8 inches by 12 inches.  It has a couple of minute pinholes that do not touch the main portion of the vignette and has been punch-cancelled on the side but against a white background as shown that is hardly noticeable.]
