Vintage Mega Lace Rayon Taffeta Full Slip Black 34
This auction is for a beautiful vintage 1950's Rayon Taffeta mega lace trimmed slip, it has no tags. I did a burn test on the fabric and I concluded that it is Rayon, I have never really handled a Rayon taffeta before, this has some shine to it in places but it has the familiar swishing sound of taffeta.
It is a gorgeous Jet Black the entire bodice is trimmed with gorgeous lace, the bodice front is embellished with a beautiful Satin applique in a floral pattern, the skirt front has an additional panel for modesty (called a shadow panel in its day), the bottom is trimmed with matching lace also. It has adjustable straps with metal hardware, there is some paint loss on the hardware.
What a find for the lover of vintage lingerie, this is a real treat and so gorgeous to look at.. It is in great condition and appears to have been worn very little, when I got it it still had the neat fold lines in it where it had been tucked away for years. I made one small repair in the lace at the side seam and the only other things to mention are the loss of some paint on the hardware and I'm not sure if the shine is normal for this fabric....it IS gorgeous though!
If you are a lover of and or a collector of Vintage lingerie you will recognize how special this vintage full slip is and vintage lingerie like this or any kind is getting SO HARD to find. (These are from my stash that I have had put away for years).
Please be sure to compare the measurements to one of your favorite pieces. Measurements are given in true numbers (no need to double), I do suggest that you allow at least 2” for proper fit & comfort. I believe that this was cut on the bias because it has some stretch to it.

Overall Length-About 32” from the underarm to the bottom, about 41" from the top of the shoulder straps to the bottom, they can be adjusted to tighten or shorten..
