RAVEN CROW NECKLACE SPIRITUAL WILDLIFE INDIAN TOTEM

 THINK GIFT...HOLIDAY'S...OR YOURSELF!!!

Be sure to ask about the wholesale quantity discount of 12 or more.

This animal is from Crocodile Creations line of jewelry. There are 183 ceramic animal necklaces in 6 collections.

1] Arctic, Sea Life & Aquatic.

2] Reptiles & Amphibians, Dinosaurs & Dragons.

3] North American Wildlife.

4] Exotic Wildlife.

5] The Farm & Ranch, Dogs & Cats.

6] Blue.

If you can think of an animal...I've probably got it.

Since not all the animals are posted just email and I'll email you the flier with all the animals pictures.

This cute and not too scary raven/crow is made of fine ceramic clay. He's just pretending to be scary. He's about 1 1/2 inches tall by 3/4 inches wide.

Now, because he's all black the detail is difficult to see but his overall color is a matte black but his beak and eyes are a shiny black. Up close you can see the detail of the feathers.

Going up the necklace are silver colored metal beads, blue glass beads and black wooden beads.

The cord looks and feels like leather but is actually a very nice waxed linen. It's long so if you want it shorter, just tie it up.

This raven / crow also comes on a nice Crocodile Creations necklace display card.

Would make a wonderful addition to your wildlife, bird or Gothic collection.

RAVEN/CROW TIDBITS

Many cultures think of the raven or crow as the keeper of knowledge for nothing escapes their keen eyesight.

Ravens and crows are very vocal birds. They are sly and often very deceptive in their actions. They have been known to build false nests high in the tree tops to confuse predators. The height of their nests gives them the opportunity to see everything that goes on around them.

Their language is complex and they have an incredible vocal range. Each caw has it's own meaning. Sometimes ravens or crows warn of impending danger, other times it signals a time to join in council and make decisions.

Listening to the raven or crow it can teach those with this totem how to hear the truth of what is being said.

Their striking black color represents the color of creation. Black the color of night gives birth to the light of the new day. They are daytime birds reminding us that magic and creation are present in both. Their ability to shift between the known and unknown world indicates new journeys.

Because the raven or crow is adaptable to most environments and eats about anything they can survive in almost any situation.

They are associated with magic, unseen forces and spiritual strength.

If a raven or crow flies into your life or dreams, it's telling you to get out of your old familiar habits and look beyond your present range of vision, listen to it's caw and act accordingly.

GOTHIC HISTORY

Ravens or crows are usually associated with Halloween so here's the Reader's Digest version on the history of Halloween. Get a cup of tea or coffee, a cookie and enjoy.

It is believed Halloween originated with the Celts around 500 B.C.. They observed the "Feast of Samhain", [God of the Dead] or the Celtic New Year. This marked the end of the summer season, the end of the harvest and the beginning of the winter season. The Feast of Samhain also called "Dumb Supper" was to celebrate dead ancestors. A complete meal was shared by the living with places also set for the dead. Large bonfires were built and they had sacrifices of animals, vegetables and grain to give thanks to Samhain for a good harvest.

The celebrations included bobbing for apples, the first to come up with an apple in his mouth was the first to marry in the coming year.

The Druids, who were the spiritual leaders of the Celts believed that on this day, the barrier between the spiritual and the physical world's were suspended. This day they believed fairies, spirits, elves, and the like were allowed to walk among the living and even "meddle" in their affairs.

After the Romans conquered the Celts, they celebrated their own harvest feast called "Pomona" on the night of Samhain.  Using the customs that were already in place they adapted them to their own festival.

In 601 A.D. Pope Gregory started a trend that rather than wiping out ancient customs and celebrations and causing a bigger rift with the newly conquered peoples, he instructed his missionaries to bless the traditions and put a Christian theme to them. When Christianity spread throughout the Roman Empire, the Feast of Pomona became All Hallows Eve or Eve of the Feast of All Saints. The Church chose this day because the people were already used to remembering the dead at this time of year. The faithful would go from door to door getting food and money as payment for saying prayers for the dead.

In 835 A.D. Pope Gregory IV moved "All Saints Day" to November 1st in an effort to give a religious theme to what was once a pagan holiday.

"JACK O LANTERN" HISTORY

Irish folklore describes the story of a drunkard named Jack who tricked the devil up a tree and then carved a crucifix into the bark, trapping the devil up the tree. Jack made a deal with the devil that he would let him down if he promised not to torment him any more. The devil agreed and they parted ways till Jack died.

When Jack died he wasn't allowed into heaven because of his bad lifestyle, and he wasn't allowed into "you know where" because of his deal with the devil. So the devil gave Jack a glowing ember to light his way thru eternal darkness. Jack placed the ember into a carved turnip so he could carry it. Thus the "jack-o-lantern".

During the Irish potato famine of 1845 to 1850 many Irish immigrated to the United States and brought some of their folklore and rituals with them. In America pumpkins were plentiful and they replaced the turnip as the jack-o-lantern.

Finding your animal totem is a spiritual journey.

The animal you feel most attracted to or kinship with is probably your main animals energy that will be with you all your life. There are other animal spirits that will come and go depending upon your needs at the time.

Each day upon rising step into nature, physically or mentally. The first animal you see or feel, become it. Take on it's characteristics and allow it to become part of you. In this way a deeper insight about yourself is gained as you feel the animal's spirit awakening inside you.

The direction your animal totem is facing when see it in your dreams or in real life also has meaning.

Facing North means you need to learn lessons of using your potential. Your element is the earth, which is symbolic of wisdom, patience and prosperity. Grounding aspects of mind, body and spirit.  What you gain in knowledge and teachings will be used later. Listen to your intuitions and trust that your inner pathway will be revealed to you at the right time.

Facing East is learning the lessons of responsible relationships. Your element is air, which links heaven and earth allowing you to walk between  the spiritual and the physical using dreams and visions. Be open to any revelations you get for they will give you guidance to grow spiritually within and without.

Facing West is the lesson of adaptability. Water is your element, which always takes the path of less resistance. This allows you to adapt according to the needs in all areas of your life. To do this requires a shift in consciousness to be able to flow like water over given circumstances.

Facing South are the lessons of life, death and rebirth. Fire is your element and it rules the heart, passions and love that help to regenerate lives. Change must be met with strength and endurance knowing you will awaken anew, fresh and purified. All of life is a cycle, there are many transition periods we must go Through. During these times we learn, grow and expand our self-awareness.

This is where I usually add a pix of an animal but I thought you might like to see some of the living and/or holding conditions reptiles are sometimes kept in at animal agencies before we can get there to pick them up.

I want to make this perfectly clear...I'm not knocking any agencies that take in reptiles. Most agencies are on a limited budget and deal mostly with dogs and cats. Many don't have the money, space or expertise to provide ideal conditions. So we provide them with info on how to do very basic and minimal set up till we can get there or have it shipped.

This is the second year in a row we've gotten a gator call around Christmas Eve. Last year it was Christmas Eve this year it was the 23rd. The pix shows the 3 ft gator, dark spot in back, in a dog kennel at a county animal shelter. Both sides had large barking dogs. Did I mention one of my top 5 reasons why I like reptiles is their "quiet". He's on clean shavings, does have a nice clean water dish and a heat lamp. The ambient air temp was cold enough you had to wear a jacket in the room. They were the first to admit we had to get him soon.

The point I'm trying to make is "if an agency can't afford to do it right, how in the world is the person buying it from a pet store, reptile show or heaven forbid...over the Internet, going to get the info to do it properly"!!!

Don't forget this would be a nice treat for your self, a terrific gift for a friend or...that "someone special" and your helping us at the same time...what a deal!!!

May all animals, especially reptiles, always have a safe and warm place to sleep, full tummies and most important...a loving "appropriate" home.

Please visit our store Crocodile Collectibles as we have a lots of wonderful animal "goodies" just in time for gift giving that would love to come live at yours or a friends home.

Hope your enjoying browsing our store and meeting some of our critters.

Thank you for looking and caring.
