DRAGON MYTHOLOGY
The symbol of the dragon can be found in most cultures throughout the world.
It is found in old Europe, the Celts, in China, and as Quetzalcoatl, the Winged Serpent among the Aztecs of the New World.
In China the dragon symbolizes both the spirit world and the union of both heaven and earth.
In the West the dragon has come to symbolize power and it's often identified with warriors.
On many flags of the crusades dragons were depicted as representing strength and victory. Dragons frequently appear in early Christian writings. However, it's just been the past few hundred years that the dragon has been redefined by Christian's to be an "evil" creature working with the devil. I think not!!!
The names of both King Arthur and Dracula derive from the power of the dragon. Arthur's surname was "Pendragon" meaning "head of the dragon". Dracul means "son of the dragon" in Wallachian.
FORGOTTEN CHAMELEON
Here's a picture of one of our favorite rescues, a chameleon. Not to mention she has personality plus.
Thought you might like to see what your purchases have helped and will continue to help.
When it was brought to us she was actually in good shape. Her owners said they kept forgetting about her because she was so quiet and didn't move much.
I respect them because they cared enough to find her a home before she was "forgotten to death".
With the economy in the state it's we're getting way more voluntary donations than we normally would. Reason certainly being...many reptiles are very expensive to properly feed and house.
Large snakes, big tortoises, monitors and crocodilians are all drains on dwindling pocketbooks. So they've went from one dwindling pocketbook to another...ours!!!
Don't forget, with the upcoming Holiday's this would be a nice treat for your self, a terrific gift for a friend or...that "someone special" and you'll be helping us at the same time...what a deal!!!
