Synopsis
Dr. Sheldrake, Bernie's dentist, needs a burglar to take back some diamonds from his soon-to-be ex, Crystal Sheldrake. Prowling around lovely Crystal's apartment for the jewels, Bernie hears a key in the lock and slips into a closet where he crouches long enough to agonize over the friendly sounds coming from Crystal's boudoir. When the noises stop, Bernie emerges from the closet to find Crystal dead on the floor and the diamonds gone.

This is an Ex-Library Edition ( some folks do not consider them first editions - I disagree )

Book is in pretty good condition, considering it's provenance: slight straight roll,  clean pages, except for some damage caused from removal of library " stuff' ( inside front & back ), and the usual " withdrawn " stamps. Comes  with a new Brodart mylar cover for protection of undamaged dust jacket ( slight scuffing to black background ), from my personal library.

All in all, it is not a bad looking book for a very hard to find first edition  published by Random House.
