Item specifics
Original or Reproduction: OriginalStyle: Arts & Crafts

Wonderful early Fulper vase with a butterscotch flambé glaze, in good condition.

Medium thickness hand thrown pale-colored clay (earthenware) body, ovoid shape (Fulper form # 011), with a complex drip glaze, predominately butterscotch with flecks of copper dust (any blue color in the highlights is daylight reflection) under a high gloss finish. Base has a transparent glaze and an unglazed, ground foot rim typical of Fulper pottery. Great period piece arts & crafts American art pottery with a unique glaze that's both instantly and enduringly pleasing. From a local estate. Provenance to winning bidder if desired.

This listing closes on Sunday evening (eastern time).

Marks:  Stamped under the glaze in black with FULPER in upper case lettering with serifs in a rectangle, a mark which I understand was used between 1909 and 1916.

Date: 1909 - 1916.

Condition: Good condition. Small flake on footrim and some glaze nibbles typical of a footrim that has been ground (see images). Otherwise, clean and shiny inside and out, with no gouges, cracks, crazing, hairlines, restoration or repairs.

Size: Vase measures 3.75 inches tall and 3.1 inches across the widest point.
