Regular ebayers interested in U-boat images may be familar with this album which I have been listing for a few months now . However , this new Cd contains for the first time the remainder of the album images approx a further 20 extra scans .I have also had time to further research the album and can now reveal that 3 photos contain the famous U-boat commander Otto Wunsche and i'm now able to add comments to the photos of ships being attacked and sunk by U-25 ..ie the dates and location . The cd has approx 70 high resolution ( 1200 DPI ) scans produced from an amazing and extremely rare original WW1 photo album within my collection . The scans have so much detail which can be zoomed in on ...they look great on a widescreen TV when cd is put into DVD player . Most of the photos relate to U-25 , but there are also photos of UB3 with its 6 minelaying hatches , U.23 alongside U-25 in port and U-23 in open sea ( photo taken from U-25 ). The original owner of the album was W.O Friedrick Pohl he served on U-25 & SM U-33 , he has taken many incredible photos . There are 3 original photos showing commander Otto Wunsche , he is seen in the main listing photo, alone on deck and again in the listing photo which features 3 crew taking tea on conning tower , he is pictured in the centre . Kapitanleutnant Otto Wunsche born 1884 , died 29.03.1919 at Kiel ...he commanded U-25 01.08.1914-15.09.1915 ....U-70 22.09.1915 -12.10.1917 ..U-97 14.10.1917 - 12.01.1918 ..U-126 07.10.1918-11.11.1918 ..he sunk a total of 76 ships over 182.000 tones ..he was awarded the Pour le merite in 1917 for outstanding leadership and distinguished naval planning and successful operations of the submarine U97 . The photos on this Cd were all taken during 1914-1915 ..at this stage of WW1 ,U-boat commanders were instructed to allow crews of merchant ships to leave the vessel before they attacked the ships with surface gun . This album contains several named ships , where we can see crews in rowing boats before ship is finally sunk . Ships which are named /identified under attack & sinking are as follows ( there are several photos of each ship going down , again all originals ) . Norwegian Nordaas ..sunk 09.07.1915 .....Norman Norge 07.08.1915 ....Albis Norge 14.08.15 ...Iris Norge date not known ..Bras Norge 19.08.1915 ....French ship Antonie sunk by U-33 on 03.10.1915 . there is also a picture of what I believe is a British ship only identification is SH192 ( I would appreciate help if you can identify for me ) . This album is top quality , its extremely rare and the only WW1 U-boat album I have ever seen . Its a treasure ! . There is real scope to produce a book from this excellent album or for use in a TV documentary ..Feel free to contact me if you are potentially interested in the rights to exclusively use the images . I have added details to scans , accessed via 'properties ' ...please note writing over listing images is not on the scans . IF YOU WANT TO SEE MORE IMAGES FROM THIS ALBUM LOOK IN MY EBAY SHOP , THERE ARE 12 LISTING PHOTOS ..IT CAN BE BOUGHT THERE FOR 5 POUNDS VIA BUY IT NOW . Feel free to view my other cds currently listed ..all produced from original military photo albums within my collection . Some great Royal Navy , WWI Tank Reg ( colonels album ) and WW2 Tank Regiment ,WW2 RAF , WW2 U-boat commanders album ( Herbert Bruninghaus) and a fair number of WW2 German army ( including early stages of WW2 , Poland , France Belguim and Russian campaigns ).
