PART OF A LARGE ESTATE COLLECTION ~ NO RESERVES EVER !

This is a very fine Victorian Silver Plate meat platter dome which is the perfect size for a rack of lamb or beef roast. It measures approx. 8-1/2" high to top of removable handle x 12" long and 9-1/4" wide, in very good condition (especially for a meat dome) with some surface scratches from over zealous polishing, it appears it has been polished with something abrasive. This all sounds worse than it looks, (the photos also make it appear worse than in real life) it displays very fine, you only notice the flaws when right up close, but I like to cover all condition flaws. I could not find a maker's mark which is pretty typical for English pieces of pre 1870, but judging by the quality and the fabulous heavy cast handle, I am certain it is by one of the finer companies such as Elkington etc. This is part of a huge estate we are handling, really one of the finest we have had in years, so be sure to Click here to see many more antiques and decorative arts. I am sure this would sell for a handsome price at any antique show or shop, but with my low opening bid and NO RESERVE someone could score a huge bargain !!
