This desirable Marvel comic, featuring Subbie taking on Triton, from the Inhumans, came out in early 1968, and builds on the events of Submariner #1 and the storied past between the Fantastic Four and Subbie which began way back at the start of the silver-age with FF #4, making this a must-have for any fan of this famous character of comics and future hit motion-picture fame!

Crucial book for any fan of super-heroes or the awesome Buscema cover/art or landmark Bronze-age crossover comics or top battles between the famous Marvel characters.  Or just for the collector of hot vintage Marvel Comics!  It doesn't get much better than this!

This unusually bright copy of this historic comic is very attractive.  It's all tightly attached, clean and supple and very glossy.  Normally, these popular books are pretty beat up, --that is, on most copies; But this copy is well above average.  At arm's length, it looks like a high grade beauty.  The front cover is flat and lustrous, with no major damage or wear although upon closer inspection there are some obvious spine-stresses along with a light corner crease to the upper right front cover.  Interior is almost like new, with no stains or writing or creases or tanning or other noteworthy defects.  Back cover is gorgeous, even nicer than the impressive front except it has one small Marvel chip at the open edge.  Blinding-bright colors, and deep color strike.  If not for the aforementioned flaws, it would likely have already been submitted for certification.  See our full-size scan, which sums up the condition very well.  (You may need to click to enlarge the picture.)  Note that our scanner makes it appear that there's vertical lines running up through the right side of the comic, but there are no such lines.

 This is a great issue to have, especially if you like the original versions of the oft-reprinted top crossover books, or major icons of the medium.  A lot has happened with comics in the past four decades since this came out, adding more interest to the proven collector issues such as this;  so I don't suggest waiting around until these historic books dry up even further.  Attractive specimens of this issue are always in demand, but are not always available in the market, especially in spectacular shape like this!
