Up for auction today for your consideration is a nice SIGNATURE BRIAR PIPE.

 

Markings on shank: "Signature"  "Imported Briar"

Stem: Is marked with a monogram "L.B.W."

 

Description:

This is a straight pipe with an apple shaped bowl and a round shank with a tapered stem. The pipe bowl and shank are smooth and rustic with carved details.  It has a satin finish with a  light-medium stain, with nice grain. It has a push in style stem with metal filter and a silver toned band and the stem is made of vulcanite.    

Condition:

This pipe has been lightly smoked. There is no charring or burn throughs anywhere on the bowl, shank, or stem. The bowl and shank are free from any cracks, nicks, or chips. I can find no visible pits in the Briar.  The stem has been cleaned and polished, and the bowl has been cleaned. The stem bit has very faint teeth marks on top & bottom. Stem also fits snug in the shank and aligns straight.

 

Measurements:

5 3/4" long overall.

Bowl- 1 5/8" tall x 1 3/8" dia.

3/4" bore.
