This auction is for a large collection of vintage 1940's title cards for home movies. They come from the estate sale of an amateur film maker who had a vast collection of movie items.These 2" x 3" heavy paper cards were cut from the pages of some type of movie magazine and from the dates on some of them, are from the 1940's era. The last two photos show the backs of several cards. These unique title cards cover many family occasions and holidays including Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter and vacations. Baby births, weddings, picnics,parties, seasons, etc. Some are colored and others, black & white. Also included are a few smaller papers with old time movie sayings. For example, A Keystone type policeman with a wand reads Positively No Stamping or Whistling Allowed or Ladies Being annoyed while in this Theatre Kindly Notify Special Officer.These were used in making home movies and would also be great for your own video making or scrapbooking. There are too many to count but I estimate this collection to be two hundred or so. I have shown photos of some but cannot show all of them. Some are blank with borders for you to add your own script. This collection of cards in in excellent well preserved condition.
