Description:

This is a lovely quality Jacobean Carolean design, late 19th to early 20th Century hand-made English arched glazed cabinet with decorative inlays, in a very antique dark mahogany finish.  The cabinet is of very nice quality, standing on turned bun feet rising over which is the shaped pot board lower shelf with shaped sides, having turned Jacobean Carolean style legs, with three drawers over, three short over one long, flanked by panelled cupboards.  Behind the doors in the base is a single shelf, the right hand section having a full height cupboard. Each cupboard has boxwood and ebony inlays, retaining their original solid brass handles, with solid mahogany hand-cut dovetail joints to the drawers and solid mahogany drawer bottoms and a solid mahogany top.  Surmounting is the lovely four door classic Jacobean Carolean arched panelled section of break-front form, with two centre rectangular doors and two arched doors flanking either side.  Two adjustable shelves are fitted to each section.  The cabinet comes complete with a working key, the right hand base door lock being a little stiff, but otherwise all in full working order.  A classic attractive cabinet.
