This is a 4" dia. lightning rod ball that is old and original.It is in perfect condition as it was originally on a lamp made by the lightning rod ball company.The end caps are 1 1/4" dia. and look like new. They are glued on with a white paste looking stuff.Holes in end caps are approx. 3/4".It has a prominent seam in two places 180 from one another.It is smooth but very obvious.

This ball is plain round , cobalt mercury.When held up to light , you cannot see the light thru.
