Sportswoman Magazine 1927 Complete Year Lot of 10 Women
Description
Up for auction is a lot of "The Sportswoman" magazines. Comprises the complete year of 1927 and consists of 10 issues. Magazine was published monthly except for July and August, where no issues were published. Volume 3. Issues measure 9" x 11.5". Magazines are full of ads and b/w photos. Several covers show b/w photos, while others are illustrated. January issue shows a great illustration of a female field hockey player. Magazines span a large range of female oriented sports activities.

Condition: Condition varies from very good to acceptable. Covers of January & February issues are detached from text and split in two at spine. January cover also shows creasing and 1" chip to lower right corner and 2" tear to edge on back cover. February issues shows 2" tear at spine. All magazines show a vertical crease that runs from top to bottom edges. All issues have "W.A.A." in pen on covers (Women Athletics Association). All magazines show light edge and corner wear to covers. Heavy edge and corner wear to December issue (includes several chips and tears--7" portion of back cover is missing).
