Recorded live at Tyrone Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 19-20, 1972.
A 1992 import reissue of a live album first released in 1972, MY FEET ARE SMILING is an intoxicating dose of Leo Kottke's early instrumental wizardry. Entirely solo performances on acoustic slide and 12-string guitar, with a handful of Kottke's inimitable froggy baritone vocals, these are brilliant folk-blues pieces pitched somewhere between John Fahey--on whose Takoma label this was first released--and British folk/blues wizards like Davey Graham.
Drawing heavily from Kottke's 1969 debut SIX AND TWELVE-STRING GUITAR, MY FEET ARE SMILING also includes versions of Paul Siebel's "Louise" and a jaw-dropping reworking of Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring." The closing "Crow River Waltz" medley is a particular highlight, a stunning example of solo acoustic guitar at its most uninhibited.

This CD has a different UPC than listed.  Includes what I think is Kottke's fastest recorded playing: Busted Bicycle live and in-concert. The CD is all instrumental, except for 1) Hear the wind howl 2) Louise and 3) Standing in my shoes.  It's new, but opened.
