Ok. Not sure what I have here. I bought this on eBay a few months back to hook my Playstation 2 up to my computer monitor. That didn't work out so well. What I think this does is hook your computer and video game consoles up to your TV. Anyway, that is not what I was trying to do, so I have no use for it now. VGA BOX The details: Obviously, the VGA Box makes your display more better. Don't believe me? Check out the first picture. See? It says so right on the front of the box. Now, aside from making your display more better, it also does a few other things. I have no idea who the fat guy with the gun on the front of the box is. Time has not been good to Duke Nuk'em, apparently. Alright, so this thing seems to actually hook your PC and game consoles up to your TV. According to the epic fail instructions, attempted in English, on the back of the box, the VGA Box can do the following (and yes, all of this, spelling mistakes, incomprehensible text and all, are straight from the back of the box, with the exception of the text asterisked in parenthesis, provided from yours truly): -Automatically detect the PAL and NTSL video system, Double the scan H and V Frepuency ,and change the signal into the RGB (**it Doubles my Frepuency and changes it into THE RGB? Awesome! I love the RGB**). -It is compatible with the IR601 AV and S-Video singinal input, (supports all the game consoles and the VCD/DVD ) (**This sentence confused me to such a degree that I Googled it. Alas, even the Great and Powerful Google doesn't know what the hell this means**). -Very easy to switch between the PC and the Game consoles, only push the button(on/off)of the product. also it is very easy to change the AV and S-Video singal, just press the small button. (**Despite these claims, I never found out what a SINGAL was. But, apparently, the product makes it easy to change**). -It comes with the Audio input socket, and also can be selected by the on/off button easily (**well, at least it can do that**) On the side of the box, there are 5 check boxes, indicated what systems the VGA Box works with. They are: -For PS2/PS2 -For XBOX -For GAME CUBE -For PS2/PS/XBOX/GC -For UNIVERSAL None of these are checked. But it's good to know PS2 is theoretically supported 3, possibly 4 times. I guess that is what suckered me into buying the VGA Box. So, that is what the box claims. There is also a diagram on the back that supposedly illustrates how to plug everything in. All you need to see it, is a magnifying glass and a degree in Electrical Engineering, as the English labels are far more butchered than the bullet points on the back of the box. It looks like a pair of Capuchin monkeys wrote the words on this thing. Inside the mysterious VGA Box box, we have: -A silver box, that a bunch of stuff hooks up to, with a power button that says 'Source Select' and an on/off switch. -An adapter that says '3 in1.' -A VGA Cable. -Some Audio/Video cables. -Some strange connector thing with a bunch of plugs that presumably attach to different game consoles. And there we have it. Maybe one of you have some use for the VGA Box, and it can be used as intended. Maybe some of you can make up some new uses for this thing. Maybe some of you will take it into your back yard and fire off 16 rounds of good ol' American buckshot into this thing. Whatever plans you may have for the VGA Box, please take it off of my hands. The woman won't let me keep it at the house and more, and my co-workers keep asking me what it is and why has it been on my desk for so long. Embrace the power of the VGA Box today! I am willing to ship internationally. Especially to third world countries, where I am pretty sure some guy and his engineering team (consisting of his donkey) made this thing. |
