Burnt Store Marina is every boater’s dream. Located on beautiful Charlotte Harbor, ranked as one of the top ten places to sail by Sail magazine, the basin is just 10 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Charlotte Harbor is the second-largest estuary in Florida, encompassing 270 square miles, yet it is one of the state’s best-kept secrets. Burnt Store Marina provides direct access to this boating wonderland, just south of Tampa, between Sarasota and Naples.
As the largest marina on Florida’s west coast, and one of the largest marinas in the state, Burnt Store offers visitors limitless and unrivaled encounters on the water.
For the sailor, Burnt Store Marina provides some of the best day sailing imaginable. As soon as you leave The Marina, you’ll be on Charlotte Harbor’s calm, protected water where you can spend all day just sailing.
For the angler, these pristine waters present the best saltwater fishing Florida has to offer. Snook, trout, redfish, cobia, pompano and more live here in abundance. From April through July, the area is covered with tarpon, the silver king. Few places on earth offer such genuine opportunities for landing the trophy catch of a lifetime.
For power boaters, secluded barrier islands accessible only by water are within miles of the harbor, including Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key, Boca Grande and the exclusive, private island of Useppa. The quaint, historic towns of Boca Grande, Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte, overflowing with old Florida charm, are delightful destinations by boat or by car.
Burnt Store Marina welcomes all boaters, and can accommodate vessels up to 100-feet, with deepwater wet slips and dry boat storage. It’s pure paradise for anyone who loves the open water. Golfers are welcome to enjoy the 27-hole executive course on-site.
The name, Punta Gorda, comes from the Spanish, meaning Fat Point. This historic small town is a hidden treasure of Florida and lies as a “Fat Point”, sticking out into Charlotte Harbor – one of the US’s largest natural harbors.
Centrally located between Sarasota to our North and Fort Myers to our South, Punta Gorda is a delightful location, within a comfortable driving distance from Tampa, Orlando and Miami.
We are blessed with Florida sunshine year-round and attract both tourists and new residents alike, who come to Punta Gorda to enjoy the lifestyle that we have become famous for. It is a paradise for fisherman, boaters, sun-worshippers and shoppers alike.
As the only incorporated city of Charlotte County, Florida, Punta Gorda is the vibrant engine of the area. It boasts wonderful restaurants, marinas and a pace of life that people from around the world come to enjoy.
