1993 Cat 953B crawler loader up for sale. This machine was bought new by a recycling plant by Albany, NY. We bought it from the plant 5 years ago. We used it for off and on demo work for the last 5 years. The machine reads 14128 original hours on a working hour meter. We put only a few hundred hours on it. The charging system works well. We put two brand new batteries in it. The loader is powered by a 3116 Caterpillar 6-cylinder 120HP turbo-charged diesel engine. The engine starts and runs excellent. The recycling plant told us they installed a new engine in the machine before we bought it. I believe it because the engine has no blowby when hot, has no smoke out the pipe, and had all new Cat engine components on the machine including a new turbo and starter. I do not have paperwork to back it up however. The transmission is a hydrostatic drive and it works very well. The transmission pushes well with no visable leaking or hesitations. The plant also told us when they did the engine they had the transmission rebuilt also. I do not have the paperwork for that however. The foot steering works great both ways. This machine has the reverse track steering meaning when you depress one foot pedal the depressed side turns the track in reverse for sharper steering. The rear end and final drives work great with no noises or visable leaking. The bucket teeth are in good shape. The bottom of the front bucket is straight and in great used shape. We put brand new U/C on the machine as soon as we got it and we only put a little time on it since. Five years ago we put all new rollers, new rear sprockets, new lubricated chains, new track pads, bolts, top rollers, and front idlers. That was a hefty bill close to $10k. The machine did have an enclosed cab with doors however the recyling plant took the doors of the cab and lost them. The cab heat still works good. The machine will be sold as-is via E-bay to the highest bidder. PA residents will need to pay 6% sales tax on top of final sale price unless tax exempt. Q: any known items that are going need attention soon? A: There are no known issues with this machine. We just changed the engine oil/filter, transmission oil/filter, and air filters.
