"IDAHO HILLS"

Original Vintage Oil Painting

by JOHN M. NEWMAN

John's close friend's comments:

Original Oil Painting on canvas by noted Western artist John M. Newman.

For many years John studied different painting styles and disciplines with noted instructors until his death in 2003.

He was a member of the "Society of Western Artists" and won many awards for the beautiful paintings that he created.

Mr. Newman has sold many of his beautiful wildlife, country homes and barns and different still life work throughout the world.

We have a very limited number of his original oil painting collection for sale and when they are gone no new work will be available.

Mr. Newman wrote: "I Paint Wildlife in settings which I have either seen or hope exist somewhere in the world, John explains "Painting is much like a tour director who points out what he hopes the audience will enjoy.

The greatest reward to the artist is a comment from one who, upon completing the tour, says I really enjoyed the trip and think I've been there before.

John would spend many, many hours, days and months on each painting with particular emphasis on detail and color.

His work was readily accepted by those who appreciate wildlife art and the western experience.

As a result of his efforts John was kept extremely busy fulfilling request for his work.

Only original oil paintings were ever sold by Mr. Newman.

by JOHN M. NEWMAN

Unframed artwork 24 x 30 inches

About the artist JOHN NEWMAN:

John Newman was born in the Central Valley of California and graduated from Fresno State University.

When he was a young boy, the wildlife artist hunted extensively the subjects he later painted in life.

During those years, he began his artistry by sketching and drawing.

Soon thereafter, this native Californian began to create with oil on canvass what he had observed during hunting trips.

The prolific artist had studied all species of water fowl and big game ever since he was a young man.

He had enjoyed many hours of the outdoor environment absorbing the beauty and natural habitat of the subjects.

His paintings had been displayed and sold in a one man show and juried presentational shows.

John had been commissioned to paint many paintings that still hang in offices and private collections.

One of John's paintings, a 24" x 36" picture of a favorite subject of his, the mule deer, hangs in the "Fresno County Sportsman's Club Lodge".

Three of John's paintings had been selected by the "Society of Western Artists" for the prominent juried presentational show in Fresno's Fashion Fair Complex where he won several awards.

Johns work has been displayed at a number of galleries over the years including Talbot's Fine Arts Gallery in Old Sacramento, California.

Johns' work has been featured in the "Wildlife Art News" an international magazine.

He had won many awards over the years including by the Society of Western Artists, San Joaquin Valley Chapter.

He was a member of the Society of Western Artists, the National Rifle Association and the Fresno County Sportsmen's Club.

Other of John's famous pieces are listed towards the end of the pictures displayed here.
