Extremely rare Otto Grun Swiss hand engraved Art Deco Estate platinum diamond 17 jewel movement watch. This watch was made prior to his opening of his business Otto Grun, Inc. in Manhattan in 1930. His name is engraved on the inside of the watch on the movement top plate. There is also an engraving, in 1928, by a watch repairman. As you will see in the photos there is no Otto Grun on the watch face. This watch was made prior to his business opening.
PLEASE NOTE: You will see in the photo the safety chain disconnected. Also the watch at the time of the photography was not working.
The watch is has now been completely repaired and is working perfectly. The safety chain has also been re-attached.

Otto Grun, a designer and manufacturer of jewelry and watches, died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital in Palm Beach, Fla., after a brief illness. He was 92 years old and lived in East Hampton, L.I., and Palm Beach.Mr. Grun, a Viennese jeweler, opened his business, Otto Grun Inc., in Manhattan in 1930. He designed a watch for Eleanor Roosevelt and a diamond heart pendant for Arlene Francis, the actress. The pendant became her trademark.He is survived by his wife, Ann Kissel Grun; a daughter, Ellen Lea Grun, of Redondo Beach, Calif., and a son, Otto Grun Jr., of Manhattan."

The watch functions perfectly and the chain has been re-attached since this listing started.
