DESCRIPTION
What a great piece of folk art! A wall mirror, carved in an ogive arch, with two doors that open to reveal the mirror. On the inside, taped to the mirror, is a small, faded photograph of a man standing with his work horse in harness. The hand written title reads Uncle Mathew who carved this mirror. Every inch of the front is covered with chip carved geometrics in the tramp art style. Even the wooden knobs are carved.
CONDITION
Excellent. Terrific original dark surface. Some surface wear, very minor. A RARE PIECE OF NEW ENGLAND FOLK ART.
