Album notes
The key to this Minneapolis fivesome's screamo stampede is Brian Nagan's guttural menace, which hovers impressively close to Coalesce frontman Sean Ingram's terrifying vocal tornado. Guitarist/vocalist Kevin Skaff smooths out Nagan's abrasive edges by serenading the songs' bridges with more ballad-worthy smoothness. Parallel to their interplay, jagged riffs and monster cymbal crashes collide with angular twin-guitar squalls and more delicate drum fills. The result is a record that employs familiar genre conventions but uses them as a basis for a rousing experiment in only slightly compromised aural hyper-violence.
Editorial reviews
[With] big melodies, high drama, a lot of emotional outpourings and quiet/loud, melodic/angry juxtaposition... Kerrang
