FEATURES ELEVEN TASTY  NUGGETS WITH A TOUCH OF THE BEATLES, PSYCHEDELICS, AND BLUES FROM IAN MOORE WHO SEEMS TO REINVENT HIMSELF EVERY TIME HE RELEASES AN ALBUM. IT IS GOOD TO HEAR SOME NEW SONGS. A HIGHLIGHT IS HIS COVER OF SAM COOKE'S "WASH AWAY MY TROUBLES". HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. PLEASE CHECK OUT THE TRACK LIST, REVIEW, AND MY OTHER CDS.

REVIEW:
This disc by the former Joe Ely guitar player Ian Moore bears little resemblance (other than the high octane quality) to the music he made with Ely, and owes much more to the Beatles and the psychedelic movement. You are still able to discern his underlying feel of the blues. This is a long leap, but it is a very positive broad step out. Moore either wrote or co-wrote ten of the 11 songs on the disc, and there are no weak ones; nor do they fall into any repetitiveness or follow any formula. The one song he didn't write is the beautiful Sam Cooke gospel tune "Wash Away My Troubles." His version is an absolutely gorgeous rendition that shows off the strength and dynamics of his voice and is one the highlights of the album. His are all strong songs about living, loving, and dying that have their own individuality; Moore evidently learned from Ely that storytellers in songs make them more memorable. Give a listen to "Diablito" (which he penned with Martin L. Gore) for a song that has a life of its own, and note that there is no sitar listed as being played. This is a disc that seems cohesive in its diverse elements and engages interest with repeated listening, and Moore is someone who seems to be growing each time he goes into the studio. Recommended
